Coolant lines for turbo on a VE
Where do you VET guys attach your coolant lines for a wet center section? I know I can use the spot on the front of the block like the DET for one line but I'm trying to figure out the other one. Any suggestions? Any pics would be even better! Thanks

I used the throttle body coolant lines.

TB heater is easiest, they are 1/2", so if you use VE TB you will need a 1/2" tee. If you go to DE TB the lines on DE TB are 5/16", you will need a 1/2" to 5/16" to 1/2" tee.

Ive always tapped the coolant housing for braided lines. much cleaner looking as well.

Ok thanks I'll look into these options, I like the ease of the TB lines but the look of tapping the housing. I'll have to figure this out.

Tapping the housing is nice for having the braided lines, but the housing is really thin and cracks over time. You have to be very skilled, or very lucky to have one last. I'm neither. I used braided lines with barbed fittings by the TB for rubber lines to attach. This gives the high temp resistance and look of the braided lines, but makes for easy connection at the TB.

Yea coheed that makes sence I'm probably going with the TB lines, I'm also going back to my log manifold, as much as I hate to, but that should make running lines a little easier. My equal length makes everything very tight

weird I know that the cast aluminum housings I tapped were about a 1/4 thick. Never had an issue with cracking at all

so how bad would my log manifold be on the VE? I hate to do it but to get my turbo on the equal length I have to use a spacer between the head and manifold and i'm sure it's causing turbulence plus it makes everything else difficult to fit, I just want to get back on the road.
