I have always believed in mechanical gauges for just about everything. there is no sending unit to worry about going bad. the only electric gauge I have on my car is coolant temp. plus they tend to be more accurate, and full sweep.

I have all electric gauges and a mechanical boost. Electric would be more accurate and fluctuate less.

I'm selling my autometer boost gauge, and just keeping the Greddy Profec B2 screen, it's way more accurate.

thats what i was thinking, because technically, the map sensor is somewhat like a boost auge, becuase it reads negative presure loads and poitive pressure loads, kinda like a sending unit would be for the electric boost gauge, pretty acuratre i would think
