Thread: GTIR swap coming very shortly, anyone have a heads up for me?

Drill out the holes in your flywheel in order to use/fit the GTIR bolts. Also weld shut the factory blow off valve port on the intake manifold if your not going to use it.

The iac valve connector you'll need the purple connector from gtir harness. Replace it with the grey plug on b14 harness. I had to do it for my motor

Clean the shit out of the intake manifold before you put it in. also shim the head.

Also, I'm getting the full harness that was used for the last 200sx that the car was in. So that shouldn't be a problem... The harness I have is pretty hanky, so it'll be good to get that shit replaced. I might even spend an hour or so cleaning up some of the connections b/c they told me it wasn't pretty, but it worked. I like pretty.

I have a Fidanza lightweight flywheel. I was planning on taking it to the machine shop to have cleaned up. I could have them go ahead and drill out the holes for the larger flywheel bolts while it's there. Thanks for the heads up.

You'll need 200sx water temp sensor,purple iac plug from gtir and other little shit

what he means by shim the head is to check the shims in the valve train. the gti-r is a solid lift engine and this can be pretty crucial to a stable valve train. if you can find the fsm for the gti-r that would be helpful in this process... I believe the lash for the rocker arms are between .004 and .008 but im not sure.

what I do know is that you want the the rocker to be as level as possible for each cylinder I would be more ok with a rocker being .009 loose and dead even on each side than have one side of the rocker be .001 and the other side be .007

hopefully u wont have to adjust anything but if you get cams this is a headache for a gti-r engine as opposed to your standard hydro lift engine
