Got my VE today! Now questions for you VE-T guys.
first some background, i have a 93 se-r with a de-t, ID1000's, Gt3076, and nismotronic 1st gen. so i'm going VE now and i have some questions: i see people modify the 93 dizzy to fit, why do this? why not use the VE dizzy? 2nd, should i use the harness that came with the VE? i don't have a VE ecu to modify so i will need to use my 93 nismotronic til i get up to john for tuning, will it work? (the harness i mean) how much can the stock headbolts hold? i'm not trying to buy more arp studs, i have them in my DE but it seems they are not right for the engine since they don't bottom out??? what i've found in searches. i know the key is tuning but was just wondering how much boost people have been running on a truly stock VE. i don't think my fuel rail will work so i need to get that. i think thats it for now, so thanks for any help.

people use the de dizzy so they don't have to re-wire the plugs on the loom, but you can rewire in the ve dizzy, how to is in the manifesto.

use the de harness, as some pins are different with the ve ecu. you'd have to re-wire the iacv, ve dizzy, and you'll need to wire in the hi-cam switch with a spare pin off your ecu with the nismotronic daughterboard ( maybe the egr ). this and download a basemap for ve (injectors, afm if your going ve one's) and your done.

The 3076GTXR turbo has a great power band. Its street response is awesome for a turbo that can make 450+ on a VE motor

people use the obd1 ignition system due to the external coil as well. the earlier ignitions are more boost friendly that the later models with the built in coil. I do know of several people that had good luck with the late model dizzy. I used the obd1 dizzy and am using a msd 6a ignition with a blaster coil because I got break up at 18psi. Its also really easy to add the msd box and coil on the early dizzy. my coil plugs into the stock harness and can be returned to a stock setup in 15mins.

Thanks for that, I do have a blaster coil and 6al on th DE now but I thought the VE dizzy would be cleaner and still work but was worried about break up on high comprssion boost, I hate gapping down to .18 or .20 to keep the plugs firing

yeah I snatched a plug off a old engine harness and wired it into the coil. It made for a simple install.
