Thread: T28 wastegate fitment issue

Okay guys this is my first build up. I've been taking it slow and in steps.
Current I am having an issue with my s14 t28r turbo waste gate I purchased it from Keith however the only issue is the bracket does not clear the block, I could shave it down but to even get it to where I have it now the rod is pulled so hard I am losing adjustment, the waste gate will now not open all the way I'd image, I'm not one for slapping crap together here's a few pics any suggestions? (I searched, HK? ATP? Fit without issue?)

You have it mounted all wrong.
It is supposed to mount to the compressor housing on the other side, toward the CHRA. You may have to clock the compressor housing around to get a good fit. And who knows if that wastegate is really meant for a FWD application, but you can do better than what you have so far for sure. That rod looks much too long. =/

I will take a look and see whats up. I'm just running it as I've seen in Keith's photos I know it looks ridiculous but I was trying things out. As for the mounting of the waste gate actuator the bracket that I did receive (in the photo above does not work with the application)

At this point I can work with clocking the compressor housing, and seeing what I can get. I'm wondering if getting another waste gate would be in detail. you think the rod is too long?

I would get the correct wastegate actuator and bracket if I were in your situation.

That is very true I do need to get a new bracket, my rod has no adjustment either which is a pain in the ass, I'm just trying to look for affordable or used options for T28's at this point I'd guess. I want to run the turbo with the compressor outlet upwards like most b13's

The picture above is a GTi-R T28 turbo clocked upward (stock GTi-R position) as you describe, on a GTi-R manifold.


I've never had direct experience with this bracket, but it looks like it would work for your needs.

another quick question...... has anyone used a oil line witha 90 degree angle to match up with the an fitting to the block

I ran a -4an line with my last 3 garrett ball bearing turbos. these were all on de or ve blocks. so I had to use a longer line with a nissport adapter. I am sure you can get a banjo fitting to run like stock.
