Thread: FX500 question before purchase.

Around 500 street driven miles.

It would be cool to start a clutch thread full of detailed info like: Clutch Brand / Flywheel type and brand / Transmission model / Street or strip miles / Engine and turbo setup information / Dyno info..... I would but I'm not that good at writing stuff up.

ir.i had a question concerning a fx500 setup on a daily driver.det w 11 setup is stock boost det.did your clutch really last for only 10k? Or was it because you had more power in your car? If it's from normal use (daily driving)then I'll probably sell and buy another kind of clutch disk. I have the hdB6 setup.any info is appreciated thank you

my friend has atleast 10k on his fx500 if not more, no racing on it but he has plenty of fun.. stock de on 9psi gt2871r b13 box

Nice.is there a lot of stop n go traffic? I commute through rush hours so it's constant stop n go

sorry to go off topic. But i had a CM fx500 in my car with 420whp and never felt it slip. I put about 4500 street miles on it.

My experience is not directly from an FX500 kit. It is with a similar style kit on a completely different chassis (BMW). It was a 4-puck, ceramic disc (unsprung) well rated for the torque output of the motor. I am of the mind that all clutches of nearly identical material are all quite similar when it comes to life. I would expect the life of one ceramic clutch to mirror the life of all ceramic clutches. The physics don't change.

Daily driving a ceramic clutch is not "normal" use and exactly why they suck in these situations. This is the point I was trying to get across. Try to daily drive one, and you'll find yourself replacing them relatively often, that's all.
Now, using a ceramic clutch for racing is a completely different story, and is normal use.

Action Clutch sent me the 2MS for some testing. It's not mainly the HP that makes a clutch slip it's the torque. My car made 452 ft tq.

they must not expect results for a couple years haha

guys need to understand this clutch isn't really for the daily crowd although I have used it for that purpose I wouldn't recommend it. Clutchmaster states its for race use only. I will use them until I find a better option at this price point
