Thread: Nismo Clutch Disk, Which Pressure Plate to Use?

I had a 6 puck JGY disc that had the springs come out of the disc. Then I was tight on money so I picked up a F1 Stage 3 clutch on here. That one lasted for about 1000 to 2000 miles before the springs came out of that disc. I was looking at picking up a ACT 6 puck, but not sure about that now. For now I might just get the double sprung B15 disc that GSpec carries.

1) That 3-puck disc is way more clutch than you need. However, if you have to use it, it would be fine with an OEM pressure plate, or a JWT pressure plate if you'd like.

2) Going through clutches quickly usually means you're missing a transmission alignment dowel. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BOTH DOWELS!

3) I'm not surprised a JGY clutch failed on you. That place is a joke.

4) The B15 disc and JWT PP is a perfect setup for anything 250 making ft-lbs and lower. You can't go wrong there.

I agree with both bens

My JGY on the VE grabbed like a mofo but was total shit for dd use. I hated that clutch, and everyone I've ever talked to will tell you they shit the bed often and snap cables.

Dunno what an F1 clutch is but sounds like eBay... again not a winner.

Wow, thanks for all the help. I honestly didn't expect any responses when posting this thread. I'm definitely leaning towards getting a ClutchMasters now.

Clutchmasters makes stuff I trust. However, don't make the mistake of going overboard with the clutch. Get just as much clutch as you need, but no more.
To get an idea of what to expect out of each type of clutch, maybe give this whole thread a read.

Just went and looked an I'm missing a transmission alignment dowel. Anyone know how I can get one or is their something I can use to make one?
