thoughts on a safcII ?? im not so sure how i feel about the calum ecu just yet....

plus the only issue is the fuel really so the safcII would fix that in a heartbeat on a dyno. how do they get wired in ??

if you can find one, get a VAFC-II it has more tuning points than a SAFC-II. I dont think they make em anymore though. The AFC Neo has 18 tuning points, the SAFC-II has 12 and the VAFC-II has 24 IIRC...all the max guys run a VAFC-II..

i mean it really depends on how solid you want a tune to be, obviously to fix he air fuel ratios or at least to lean in out in some spots the safc will do the work but to actually get a good solid air fuel ratio numbered tune, a realtime ecu is gong to be very efficent, why do you not know about the realtime is it th price?

Get the calum. Your JWT ecu is a self learning ECU and over a period of time will over-ride the SAFC settings. SAFCII usually go for 150-175, the second gen.(same thing, just black) can go from 150-200.

i dont know anyone who can tune a turbo nissan, let alone some one that i trust. chriscar, get a dyno in your garage and learn how to tune ! lol.

but if i get a safcII my ecu will over ride it in time ?? that sucks, how would i be able to stop the ecu from over riding it ? jwt maybe ? ill call them tuesday and ask them if they can disable that feature.

but yes, all i want is a solid a/f, im confident in the jwt tunes its just their afr is way off.

or i could just slap a 718r on it instead of a tune and make more power, make more power higher up in the rpm range. i believe doing that would also lean out my mixture automatically since its getting alot more air from a bigger turbo. am i correct in thinking this ??

i have to read up on the realtime though, to me its very confusing maybe talking with calum over the phone will help answer my questions.

The ECU over riding the SAFC is most likely on OBD2 cars from what I have seen. I think you should check your sensors (o2, temp, maf), the JWT is very sensitive to any sensor damage, also on WOT the ECU ignores the sensors so at least on WOT it will not over ride anything you already tuned on the SAFC.
