Had to ditch my A/C compressor for new O2 sensor.
My car hasn't been running 100% lately and I tracked the cause to the oxygen sensor. I have a 1994 Se-r and the oxygen sensor on there was definitely the one that came with the car. I also have a GT28R on a Gti-R manifold and an avenier j-pipe. The old oxygen sensor barely fit between the compressor and the J-pipe. When I went turbo I actually had to thread in the O2 sensor into the j-pipe while it was out of the car and then bolt up the J-pipe to the turbo afterwords. The Bosch universal sensor I picked up was about 1/2" longer than the stock sensor, it would not fit between the J-pipe and the compressor. I did some research and searching on the forums and the topic came up a couple of times but the answer I pretty much found was found was "deal with it". Well needless to say I chose my turbo over the air conditioning, it hasn't been charged in 3 years anyway. It's great when you go to do something as simple as changing the O2 sensor and end up working on the car for a couple of hours between researching and actually wrenching. Just thought I'd share.

That's nice. My 1994 is a little different though. It's not the line that's in the way, it's the actual small housing piece that the line bolt's into, it's part of the compressor housing. I might be able to keep grinding away at the housing until something fits but I did not feel like getting into it at the time. It looks like you got it under control though!

Most will cut the A/C bracket so that it's only held by three bolts, and it will function fine. Is this what you're referring to?

No, I wish I had a pic. In the pic above you see where his line is attached to the compressor that he modified....my compressor line is bolted to the compressor right where the end of of the oxygen sensor is. I can either bolt the line onto the compressor or bolt the oxygen sensor to the J-pipe...I can't do both.
