I tried ACT Unsprung 6puck in the past, the way it engages is great, and it was still streetable. I used is as my DD for a year with no problems. It did wear out fast tho, probably due to being used as DD as well as drag racing on the nights.
When I parted out the setup about a year after I installed the clutch, the disc was holding great but it looked like it needed a rebuild.

For my next setup I will follow the recommendations and try the clutchmasters, since the ACT extreme PP was not soft at all. It kept breaking the clutch cables every 2 or 3 months I got left stranded because of this multiple times, to the point that I carried a spare clutch cable in the car

Getting a good quality clutch is a good idea. Getting one that holds more than you need is not.

one and done... maybe he'll add hp later to match those needs of the tighter clamping force.


Beto- i always had a spare cable on hand also, those little cables just werent designed for such strain all the time. taking it apart and lubing it helped from time to time and aided in being aware of problems in advance.

the FX500 is a great clutch for the price, not too difficult to learn to drive either, my friend went from driving an auto subaru to an fx500 an caught on right away! he says its just like his dirt bike! haha

Clutchmasters is the only way to go.
