Ok so i'm going VE. Just some questions
First off is there anything i need from my DE-t engine for the VE? i've read about oil pans and stuff but not sure why. will my turbo manifold bolt up? and i have arp studs in me DE but i've been reading that those are wrong for the engine anyway, i'm not going to change pistons so it will be stock comp. ratio so how much boost can the stock head bolts handle or should i use my arp studs and a new head gasket? i know tuning is key but just wondering about pressure, this will be my first high comp turbo car, i have 1000cc inj and a GT3076r. i've been searching and found alot of good info but most are building their VE's not alot of untouched turbo VE's unless i'm doing something wrong. thanks

With good engine management just about any thing is possible. What kinda of power are you looking for.

There is no need to build the motor if you are looking for a simple 300-400whp setup. Plenty of guys have been pumping lots of forced air through these things and they love the abuse. Before anything, I would invest money into a meth kit. That will be the motors savior. Heat is what killed a lot of VE's on this forum. We are actually setting up a stock ve b13 with a tubular manifold and big ol precision 6262 at the moment. Meth + tuning is the key!

I've been researching the same thing. Apparently arp studs are not well made. If you choose to use studs, get the mazworks studs. As far as head bolts, I'm not sure how much boost it can handle but I have read that they are good for 400hp and then some. Or prisons, you will need to either get pistons with valve reliefs, or get valve reliefs cut into your current pistons. Depending on your goals, it seems that a basic chipped Ecu will be fine. as for head gasket, vet metal head gasket should be fine. You can get them from mazworx as well.

Amen on the water meth. I ran it on my nx years ago and plan on getting another kit for my ve-t.

thanks for replys, i was looking for at least 400whp. made 380@18 psi on my old setup before burning a piston at the track. meth would be nice but until i get this going with all the little things that add up i'm just looking to see what i can do on a stock motor. oh and i'll be running nismotronic also. just wasn't sure how far i could push stock head bolts.
