Help! SR20VE p12 head on GTI-R bottom ~550hp
Engine is on my car!
I want to make sure that the configuration of my engine will work without problems
I am not sure in sr20det cp pistons+sr20ve p12 head
Main question is: Do i need to make counterbores in cp pistons?
the setup is :
gti-r block
stock crank
sr20det manley rods
sr20det 87 mm cp pistons
tomei 87mm*1.2mm rnn14
sr20ve head p12
sr20ve cams p12 ported an polished but stock cams, retainers, springs
adj cam gears
BorgWarner EFR 7670 Turbo t3 internal wastegate

the block has larger holes for the gti-r head so the P12 head needs to have the holes for the head studs made larger for the gti-r head bolts.

the oil feed for the block will need to be blocked. You will need to tap the oil feed galley and run a line from the galley to the head. If your using stock cp det pistons I would have them notched. Nothing like slamming a valve into the piston to ruin your day.

Engine is on my car! Долгострой Gti-R Time attack I have made photos of pistons by my usb endoscope camera
Do I need to make bores in cp pistons for valves??? P12 head cams have bigger cams lifts!

Should I to make counterbore in cp pistons for valves? P12 cams have bigger cam lift compared with rnn14 cams!

You're not getting the answer you want because you are using the wrong terminology.

It's piston valve relief/notch not "counterbore", and yes get the pistons notched for the higher lift cam to be safe.
