Thread: Intercooler piping ideas

Hello, The thing that always stumped me on building a turbo kit was the ic piping/routing.

We don't have much options out there like Honda kits alrdy made, and since hotshot is no longer available. I do not wish to spend $800 on the jgy kit.

Tht is one sexy piping. Was wondering if that would fit a basic bb/Avenir t25 setup or would I have to use my imagination to cut it up. I don't want to clock the turbo!

Would it be a direct bolt on to my b14?

Most of us DIY our own from $100 Chinese aluminum universal kits found on eBay and get great results. Don't forget to find the turbo outlet of your choice based on how you have your clocked. Those are available separately. Personally, I went that route as well and got to make the kit route how I felt was best (not under the lower radiator support).

I can tell you right now, that kit you've posted is going to be almost impossible to fit.

I like to run my ic piping around the radiator. I bought a universal ebay kit with the proper size ic core and cut the pipes to fit.

Where's the part about bending the pipes ?

You don't need to bend any pipes.The kit comes with i/c pipes with angles/bends/lengths of different variations.Just a matter of piecing the intercooler pipes together after measuring and cutting with couplers.

A hack saw works but is very slow. I bought a metal saw from harbor freight before I did my last setup. I have also used a electric potable band saw as well.

get a universal kit and some couplings wit tbolt clamps.depending if you are keeping ac will determine if your hot side will be fun to run or incredibly fun to run.keeping ac/? run em flat under the support ,find an alternate location for windshield washer resovoir/location.i personally kept my ac ran a atp outlet and took a 90 silicone fitting cut it flat close to bend for a closer radius and stuck a regular clamp on it because thats the only thing that would clear that i had.clocked 45 to pass crossmember.i had to hack my fans.another good idea if you get stumped in the process of your build,hit up pepboys first and get yourself an universal mandrel pipe comes with a couple of bends.cut what you need and keep on going. good luck
