Thread: Boost Issue

Having an issue with my b14. Car wont boost more then ~5psi with the mbc hooked up or the wastegate disconnected. Im thinking it's either a wastegate issue or an issue with the wastegate flapper. Anybody ever have a similar issues or an idea of what the problem may be?

sounds like you have a leak, like a loose clamp or coupler slipping off?

Boost leak for sure!

Car runs fine other than the boost issue. Idles smooth and its a draw through setup.

take the turbo off the car so you can properly inspect the waste gate.

Bad waste gate actuator

Boost leak tested the car and everything was fine. Wastegate arm is not making contact anywhere on the block or manifold anywhere. The spring in the wastegate is what Im thinking the issue is. Ordering a wastegate tonight, hopefully I can boost more then 5lbs lol.

My boys upgrading his setup on his srt and has a spare agp internal wastegate now that hes going external wastegate. Was thinking about using it for my t28 but I feel that the wastegate arm is too short and wouldn't work. Heres a few pics.

its threaded so the length will no be a issue. you can always get a extension.
