Turbo oil drain
I searched and read that a lot of people are drilling where the factory drain is on the block on DETs. well is it possible to put a drain to the lower pan? or will the oil be too high. are there any options for aftermarket oil pans that come bigger with a drain fabbed into it? i'm going to continue to research but i figured i'd get some input. thanks.

Lower pan is a no-no. The only place is where the factory drain is on the DET blocks.

I have a DET block but the rod bearings are toast therefore i'm not using that one. i picked up a whole SE-R for 350 with a DET. it ran before i took everything i'm using for my DE off today. im hoping to have this swapped by next sunday. should be easy going. as far as the drains and everything, what about the coolant line? is there anything else that has to be drilled and tapped on the DE block? totally new to the turbo thing. i just couldnt believe it came so easy to me.

Just T off the heater hoses for the coolant lines for the turbo.

Not sure what size that one is, but when I did mine I drilled and tapped for a -10 AN, just by eyeballin it, looks a tad smaller. Maybe -8 AN?

I used a 5/8 drill bit for mine but I'm not running AN fittings...I cut the end off a spare heat tube and used JB Weld with no issues for years. AN fittings and braided hose definitely looks better but can be costly if you're on a budget.



As for the coolant lines (most dont use), I spliced into the heater lines for the coolant loop with two fittings from a plumbing supply store.



It was such a tight fit and close to the mani so I added some kind of fire proof insulation stuff...dont use coolant feed now but here's a pic.
