Yep, and probably for a stock, untreated trans. Though, I did break a bunch of 32V boxes with 250whp...

If you are running a JWT pp/sprung full-disc and still blowing the 32 box, even with all the stuff you guys are doing to prolong it, the 70 box isn't much stronger. And overall strength is only part of the issue. I've run 500whp through a 32 box without failure (for a while) and blown up a 70 box on 400whp in a short while.

Luckily we don't use 2nd very often. Most tracks are 3rd-5th.

Word. If it turns out that the 70A isn't strong enough, we've got it sitting around, although Martin might not appreciate it (it's his transmission).

I'm only making this point because there was a lot of time and money spent to make this 70 box last. Hopefully this transmission lasts several seasons! I'm only skeptical and offering my own perspective through tracking and daily driving the super sentra. Granted, the super sentra was making 2x the power, but it very rarely saw the track. I would like to see how this treated transmission holds up this season, and best of luck to you steve!

Yep, and it do doubt weighed more as well. That being said, road racing is horrible for cars, so we'll see.

Who are the 2J Racing guys? 200whp+ from what setup? What type of racing? What trans?

I've worked on trannies that broke using shockproof and i've broke trannies using 85w140. I put it in my tranny and it still broke. I'm sure the 6 speed tranny is stronger but it's not for everyone. I'm sticking with the P11 cause I spent $1100 on a twin disk clutch and don't want to go out an waste money on another one. For road racing I think the setup these guys are using is good enough. We all don't have to do the same thing, it's ok to be different.

Yep. That, as has been stated more than pi times, was one of our primary driving factors for the 70A. We had spent almost $1000 on a NISMO diff that makes me get a rubbery one every time I mash it leaving a corner (and consequently yank someone on the third segment of the corner). Torque + NISMO clutch diff = win.

BTW, this "your notifications" shit is annoying. My Inbox OCD wants to clear it every time, because I keep thinking I have a PM or something...

They have a spec-v they road race, it's N/A not sure on power but think its like 260hp or so.

Because we like to bring you back so you can constantly repeat yourself in this thread

Also to note: There is also a VQ swap in the chassis of the 2JRacing B15.

But, mind you, that car has HEAVILY been reduced in weight, so that alone will make a gearbox last ages!

Ah, word.

Jesus Ashton, lay off. I get it, the 51H is the world's greatest transmission, and if I throw Valvoline in it, I can hook it to the shaft of a GM LM2500-30 and have a 6-speed Arleigh Burke Class destroyer, but I'm not running it because I think it smells like a chicken farm on Tuesdays.

Bwahahahaha!! My point (about being repetitive) exactly
