Holy nuts batman! I bet that thing is crazy! What 2871r did you go with, they range from 350whp to 475hp or something like that.

im running the GT2871R .86 AR, as of when the car retuned from the retune about 2 weeks ago the cars powerband was INSANE, it see's 3600rpm FULL boost even with the large AR and i definitly think ot only did the hks 264/264 camshafts have alot to do with such fast spool, but also the log manifold, i definitly think the log manifold helped with such fast spool on a LARGE AR.

i just installed the second wastegate spring today and havent had a chance to see how it feels, but the shop said at 17lbs there was no reason it wouldnt hit 400whp. but i am having the tune cleaned up more for the extra power, and see what it actually makes, might even see more than 400whp not sure lol

it peaks torque at 4,000rpm and makes 295wtq, the shop was impressed with my numbers lol

I figured on the old sr20ve cams I was sitting at pretty dang close to 300whp on 10psi. My old tune did 265 on .8 bar. That was with a much smaller intercooler and my crap lightning maf running a rich 10.5:1 afr. After the Z32 maf and retune it was over 280whp for sure. When I put in the new spring to raise pressure to 1.1 bar it was pretty fast, but it didn't hit very hard. it came on pretty progressively. Without the cams switching I pulled on a automatic supra on the freeway. He was sitting at 400whp, but his car was insanely fast on the freeway. I was suprised to see me pull away. With no front bumper, and holes in my intercooler, and a passenger haha.

This time, it is lower compression, big intercooler, 1.1 bar, cams, and more money lmao. It better impress or I am giving up. The VET concept looks so appealing, until you build it and can't find out why it won't perform. But this project has taught me a lot about how to build things to work together.

I am still on the fence about my head setup ...VE or not to VE , it is slowing me down on buying my o2 induction manifold and I really want to see 500whp on race gas , so I might end up upgradding to the gt35r before I even assemble the dang thing .....this will be the second turbo not to make it to the car , first was a gt2871r , know this one posibly ....I still tink that 500whp should not be out of the question with a gt3076r , especily with the .82 vband exhaust housing I have on it ...

the gt3076r should be fine for your goals. Some of the Suby guys are running 550+awhp out of the gt3076r with the .82ar housing.

The gt35r is too laggy for me. it is responsive in high revving engines, but it is a dog otherwise. Not a fan. I have been in a 550awhp celica all trac with this turbo and the .63 ar housing. Fast as hell, but not very responsive for me. Unless you love to rev to 9k. But i guess everyone has their tastes. He had a equal lenght tubular mani and 272 cams. 2.2 liter bottom from a camry. Still didn't hit full boost till over 5k. full boost being 33psi.

I am running a love fab sidewinder and I think I am going to run the det head on it with a o2 induction intake manifold so it should make some #s , I worried about the head still though , I would think that the ve wold be great for my application , but it seems to a sore spot on your build and I think I can get to the #s I want with out going to the VE head ...

Ya the ve needs the right combo to make power that is for sure. If I had a tubular mani I would be making 500+ by now. but these things happen and you have to make changes for it. The VE is still early in its R&D so I have been in uncharted territory for a couple years. Everyone who builds VEs has been all hush hush about combinations that work.

That's when I went to the honda camp and got tons of info on what I need to make this baby work right. I am not sure how the VE head flows compared to the hondas but it should be pretty similar. I made 170whp bone stock with my VE at 3500 feet which is exactly what the K-boys are making. But the K takes mods a lot better I think. Meh.

are you using this setup for track? or street?

street baby! This is my all time fave daily driver. That's why I picked the log mani. This setup will hopefully prove reliable. I would like to see boost hit around 4k and hold solid to redline at 7500. I think this is possible. I am looking for a broad powerband as this car will see circuit track use. But I should still hit low 11s in the quarter with slicks hopefully.

your log will do fine and I love your setup. I would cosider your setup a true street one. The VE head flows just as well or even better than the K20 but you have to put money into it. K20 heads have bigger valves out of the box and that is why they flow more initially.
