ok cool request on facebook sent, but the reason why i over think it is because i have been told many times to get DET pistons if i want to raise boost, is it safer on DET pistons then DE pistons to raise boost....? or is it just bad tunes that cause people to blow their engines :-P

det rods are stronger then de rods, but you shouldn't worry about blowing a stock de with just a t28 setup. get a good tune on it and you'll be fine.

how about pistons because i have the stock sr20de pistons(not DET) since my engine was N/A and i just bolted a turbo on it :-P

He is not bullsh!tt!ng when he says pump gas here is bad he actually understated it.

Our premium/super or lets just say best available pump gas may be 90.octane some.even say 89 octane. i am amongst the people/ friends here to just leave his car as is its safe and pretty damn fast right now.

I say 12 psi is safe get it on the dyno and see if its liking try 14. Wouldnt do it with my own car but i have already broken an engine in my skyline at very moderate boost levels. So.maybe the bad experience.makes me very conservative

Just my two cents but mr se-r never really listens anyway.

hey i do listen i just like to here opinions and learn new things :-P, plus i am fine with leaving my car at 10.5psi i just never new a stock internal DE could hold that much with good fuel and tuning :-)

Yup. They can. So turn up the boost and if pops buy another 200$ de and do it all over again..

Sounds like you don't know too much about boosting your classic. My advice to you is to start reading and learning. ASAP. Knowledge is power...

Stop listening to who ever is telling you a stock SR20 can only push 10 lbs. and lets hope you arent letting them touch you car.

His issue is those shitty 370cc injectors. Those injectors can't support the T28 at more than 10psi safely.

FROM THE INFORMATION LIBRARY AND THE INJ-WHP THREAD!

370 cc = 250 WHP * Purple SR20DET
---------------------------------------------370 cc @ 4 bar = 290 WHP

A T28 with JWT Cams and 10PSI is already at 250whp, he has no ceiling. Gotta get more injectors and the kid REALLY needs to start reading this forum and LEARNING before just changing shit on the car (like boost pressure).

If you are curious as to what a stock block from bottom to top can handle, check out the dyno thread. If not, search. This information is widely known and you will probably gain ALOT more knowledge just searching and reading through what at first are seemingly unrelated threads that end up providing you with information worth it's weight in gold!

400whp Daily on a STOCK BLOCK 9.5:1 compression DE has been done numerous times to the point that I lost count. 10-14 psi on a T28 (250+ hp) is nothing for the DE, simple.

Also, the DET rods and piston combo are only slightly (if any at all) better than a DE. Not worth the time to swap them in. Plus, a 9.5:1 engine is much better at off boost driveability and in boost transition areas.

Also, ditch those puny 370cc. When it comes to fuel for turbo car, that is one thing you do NOT want to run out of . Minimal I would suggest is 550cc injectors and Warlboro 255LPH pump at minimum.

Good luck!
