I never have to brown nose for christmas I actually had to tell him not to buy me a 350z for christmas this year. I have just learned in our 8 years of marriage that instead of fighting his hobby to enjoy it, participate in it, and feel blessed that my husband has found something that he loves and brings him joy. When he is happy, I'm happy, and when I participate in his hobby I not only get to spend more time with him, I get to enjoy his hobby with him. While its not my passion, it is my priority that its his passion, and he does the same with me and my roller derby passion.

i was thinking of selling up, have had a few setbacks etc lately but this thread has literally changed my mind for me! has def. made the big picture clear and have decided to just harden up and chase silly times with fwd turbo lol keep at it.

All things in perspective, my setback is/was very minor. It was a spun bearing and oil pump damage, and a custom crower rod damaged. Bad part is the rod is custom and the wait time is forever so Im going with an off the shelf 19mm capable Pauter X-beam rod set. Good thing is the set of these is the cost that two of the Crowers were gonna cost and no wait time.

Gonna go with the Calico coated ACL's with the .001" extra clearance, brand new pump, Mazworx main studs, and ATI balancer.

That should put the motor in a good position to last a long time that mixed with the new turbo setup I wont need to rev past 9700 which will be perfect for what I need.

It should definitely be fun and it should have no problem making the power Im looking for and hopefully last alot more than 3 passes before issues. But all in all I just realize its part of the game, its part of pushing the limits, its part of pushing a platform to new heights. So it comes with the territory.

Asthon what exact;y happened? Did you spin the motor too high and it cracked the oil pump? I am not sure if you posted this info. I am curious to know.

Didnt crack the oil pump but it had some serious pitting on the teeth and bad wear on the inside of the housing. It was also wanting to bind up almost like the gear was warped a bit. I had wayne check it out and he said it didnt look like it was warped but the pitting and the wear on the housing was bad enough that it may have caused the severe drop in oil pressure.

Yes and that would have been caused from spinning it too high without an ATI balancer. Not to say it would have saved the damage but it very well could have. Again who knows, Im not taking any chances on it this time and making some changes that should help out.

Also going to switch oils and use Brad Penn 20w50 partial synthetic "The Green Oil". That mixed with the bigger clearances on the bearings should help out bigtime. We shall see.

Hey ashton not sure if I missed it or not but what turbo are you planning on using now? You want to move your power band down so smaller turbo more boost? Borgwarner again? Your a good critical thinker I like reading your posts.
