Thread: Tapping block for sr20ve t- quick question

Just a quick question, I am about to start this sr20ve t.

Seen pictures on where the block is tapped.

Just want to make sure with you guys this is the right location.

I am sure it is before i start pulling everything apart. Just want to get my locations right.

I just finished tapping my block too.

Do you have the right drill bit and tap? 45/64 drill bit 1/2 NPT tap and 5/8 to 1/2 NPT barb.

Drill a small pilot hole, make sure you don't drill into the oil pan or the oil return from the head.



While your at it, cleanup the block too, mine was horrible.

si, u can take the block to a machine shop and have it cleaned for a few bucks, not much at all. also @blairellis has a rental set and barbs if you need it

In the uk, it is hard to find the right drill bits, barbs, taps etc.The ones i am looking at all look different to what I am seeing on here. I am looking now on ebay as i need to order them this weekend.

If you have links I can buy in UK please let me know.
I will be popping to the diy store tomorrow.

P.s the block is being drilled with the engne still in the car.
Just removing the rad, hoeses, pipes etc.

ask him and see if he will ship to the uk, he could get u the barb also for like 5 bucks extra
