Thread: 1 pass blew the turbo!! PTE 6262 JB

Well the Story goes like this
took the drag car out to the track for the first time on thursday,
on my first pass on 13PSI the journal bearing 6262 turbo blew the shaft up.
Dang!... just one pass..... on drag radials No traction..
took the turbo apart over the weekend it definately wasnt an oil issue and the seals where still in tact but lots of shaft play..
No warranty and Precision doesnt want to take the blame...(Expected)
"Pure turbo shop" charges $350 for full rebuild with 1yr warranty..Not bad and my only option now..buyers beware I've read that im not the only one with this issue on this turbo..All Well part of the Game I guess..

sucks i never had a problem sure you didnt ingest something?

so pte makes thousand dollar turbos with no warranty?

if you buy it through them i think they would if installled by a certified mechanic and all that bullcrap

Now I'm second guessing my 6766 I hate being disappointed

dont dave they are awesome turbos just finish that beast already please

warranty expired my project took a while to finish also..I tuned and drove it around the block a few times with no issues..went to the track and Boom!..
they wanna blame it on oil contamination crap...It had fresh t6 oil..
the turbo screen look fine..it diidnt swallow..

Its done. Just needs to go on the dyno. Sitting at the shop behind the dyno

On the bright side I'm glad it was turbo and not the motor..
In this game we have togo into things expecting with the worst case senerio in mind...
