Thread: what kind of turbo do i have?

i bought a t3 about 8 months ago and finally took the time to take it apart and take some measurments, the hot side has presicion stamped on it but i dont see anyting on the cold side. someone welded a elbow on the cold side were they usually etch the model of the turbo. i took the thrust washers off and found (cce63) on the cold side of the housing and found (thf3-76) on the hot side. i measured the wheels and got 85mm on the cold side and 73 on the hot side. any help would be appreciated

cold side housing code:CCE63
hot side housing code:THF3-76
inducer size: 85mm
exducer size: 73mm
cold side inlet for filter:72mm
5 bolt side: 66.8mm/67mm

I got 85mm on the cold side and 73 on the hot side

each wheels has 2 measurements, need both

The bottom of the cartridge on the cold side 85mm then it narrowed up top to 72mm fin to fin. On the exhaust side the bottom of the wheel was 73mm then narrowed to 67mm

looks like some kind of oil cooled precision turbo

i cant remember what the numbers and lettering mean, but i do remember is the cce63 the E means it is a E compressor cover and 63 in the compressor inducer size in mm so it is a 63mm inducer, the thf3-76, i dont remeber the first part but the 76 is something on the exhaust wheel, it is a 76mm or 76 trim, so it has a ptrim exhaust wheel

my sc6176e has the some of those numbers on it

so with those numbers it looks like you have a precision journal bearing sc6376e

Who cares slap it on a manifold and crank the boost it's a big turbo and moves air what more do you need to know.

I need to know how uch boost the bitch can handle
