T25 OEM DET Water/Oil Lines Or braided lines?
Which one would be better for a T25 and thats being bolted on a usdm 99 DE and going to be drilled and tapped.

I misplaced 2 of the coolant/oil lines or dont remember if they came with when I bought it, Since it's been boxed for months. lol.

I only have the oem line that's right by the wastegate actuator and goes over the rod.

What should I go with? oem lines or aftermarket lines? I do want to save money buying new/used oem, but buying aftermarket is not a problem.

What is your opinion, suggestion, or recommendation

I just switched to braided lines on my t28 and love them. All the R owners over seas says its a good thing to do, replace the lines that is, after a rebuild (or build in your case). I would just drop the cash and get some braided lines. You know the are new and clean and are proven to work well. That, and they look pretty fly.

yeah i just used some braided hose and cut the banjo lines at the straight part to attach the braided hose to. works great and had no problems at all. i was going to say you cant use one factory hard line being on the det motor it comes off the block. the other line goes around and attaches off the det coolant pipes just after the thermostat. but yours wont have a place for that, i did mine off my throttle body coolant lines. Thats where i see most people doing them and have no problems.

lol, i gave you the answer man, thats just what people use when doing the kit on a de motor. det's use the stock lines are fine, but de you have to modify it. sorry.

I bought the gofastdepot oil and water fittings with the push on hoses. Pretty baller lines man and great quality!

While we're on this discussion (sorry for threadjack)...

On a DET block, there are what looks like three fittings on the front.

Which ones are which? I'm trying to determine if one that was capped off was the oil feed line or not. There is a smaller banjo bolt at the bottom, and a larger banjo bolt almost at the top of the motor. Between these two bolts, is a smaller bolt that looks like it capped off the oil feed port.

I don't have any FSM's for the FWD DET specifically.

I'm not sure if the R was diffrent then the other det's in this department, but the top hole (larger banjo) was water, the bottom was oil (smaller banjo), and there was a bolt hole in the middle to hold the bracket for the lines.

Sorry for the jacking of the thread as well, but yeah go with the braided. They are the best bet, and you are safer starting with that then some old used set of hard lines.

Okay, if the top hole was for water feed, and the bottom was for oil feed, where's the water return at? Sorry, first det block. I was planning on just using the water lines from the TB, but I'm trying to clean up the engine bay, as well.
