Thread: Adjusting Wastegate Tension on Car

Have any of you been able to successfully adjust the tension on an internal wastegate via the acuator while the turbo is on the car? Should I expect to have to pull the turbo to perform this task. Through logging and virtual dyno it is obvious that my wastegate is blowing open at about 4400rpm. I have a 1992 Sentra ser with an avenir w10 and a 2871r .86 turbo. Thanks, for any help.

Well I am going to pull the turbo and go external with a Tial 38mm MVS.

Are you logging boost?

Turbo has to come off. Not enough room. (at least coming from bottom mount perspective)

Will have to pull radiator and then unscre a fee more things plus the Mani and u should have enough room To adjust it. I had to do the same thing.

Thanks for the response tdark. I pulled the turbo and sent out the manifold to be welded for a tial mvs external gate.
