but what the hell are yall talking about with t28s being lagy? i dont even know how you could manage that? i got full boost on all my factroy setups around 2700 rpm, and t25s.....almost instant throttle response.

yeah i will have to go for the GTi-r T28 turbo & plus i got one in my local area to buy & i hope to buy it this week & mount it asap, plus i hope to see good power gain because with my rb26 T28(10psi dropping to 7psi) i made 225hp & 235ft-lbs

On a VE and GTiR manifold and on a tubular VET manifold I get full boost, 8 psi, by 3500-3700 rpm that's laggy imo.

DET with T25, getting full boost, 7-8 psi, by 3000. From the sounds of it that should be 2500?

What gear you guys testing in and are you doing any anti-lag timing retard?

SCREW everything else. more power, less spoolup time. as far as 400hp plus turbos go, this is the way to go. t25s and t28s have their place, but honestly, the nissan community has a warped concept of value for the money, think t28s are worth well over 500 bucks, and their worn out factory turbos available most times. i bought my 18g for 300 bucks, had it rebuilt and reballanced for another 150. off topic rambleing i guess.....but once youve driven a 18g powered sr20, you understand REAL quick. ive completely written off t28s at this point.

Used to have a W11 turbo, what a nasty little bugger indeed. I regret selling it .

Ok, VE head so maybe thats the difference. I was talking DET head

Could you just play with VVL activation points and activate them sooner to improve spool?

Yeah maybe VE is not the super anti-lag motor after all? I don't recall what the T28 was like on my DET, I will probably install it into the B15 just to see now!

Activating cams (both intake and exhaust) below 4k rpm was a major loss in power on 20ve cams, maybe doing exhaust only first would help? I now have VET cams, which have the exhaust cam always activated, didn't help with reducing lag though.

yeah vadim, on a vvl.....id have to venture and say a t25 is a TERRIBLE match anyways, to restrictive. i cant say anything based on personal experiance on a boosted vvl, but on a de, there is NO lag with either turbos. getting the cam activation right for boost is PROBABLY slowing the spool time.....i though for boost it was supposed to be ablove 5500, but like i said, im not even going to pretend i know.

Well I heard everyone always say that VVL needs bigger turbo for X and Y reasons. Thus I thought VVL could spool bigger turbos faster, but in reality if it can't spool a T28 fast enough then I don't know what the big fuss is. This VE with a log and T3 turbo hit full boost past 5k rpm .

I have a GTiR manifold that I want to install on my DET B15, while I'm doing that I might temporarily install the GTiR on the Avenir manifold just to get a comparison of spool and whp vs T25 spool and whp.
