VE pick up tube
So I just installed my VE oil pump on my det, but the VE pick up tube is hitting the the bottom of the lower oil PAN not allowing it to fully seat, I got it to clear the baffle plate with a little grinding. Any of u run into this issue when doing a VE pump on a det?

Think I may have a sr16ve pick up, if it differs from a 20ve pick up(shorter).

You need to use a GTiR pick up

yep, gtir pickup tube.

The ve pickup tube works on ve and de motors. But the Det's have the shorter pans and require the gtir pickup tube.

AND the pick up flange is different on the VE compared to the det (avenir bluebird) the GTiR uses the same flange as the ve

I cut and welded the VE pickup tube and modified it to sit about 1/2 in off the bottom of the oil pan in the factory location by using the original pickup tube. Wish I had known the gtir one bolted right up....
