Thread: Boosting sounds

when i roll on the throttle in 4th from 50-70 i hit about 7 psi, my wg springs 8.9psi and my mbc is set to 11/12psi, my vvl is set to 4900.

when rolling on an i hear the boost sound get louder just before or at vvl its kind of inconstant though.

so could this be a boost leak? or just my tach not bein consistent and its just from hitting vvl? it feels like it gains power when it happens, so i was thinkin vvl.. its def a cool sound, its like opening an exhaust cutout but instead of the exhaust getting louder the boost sound gets louder lol

A loud turbo spool noise is normal, It depends on how long/big your intake pipe is, what its made of, size and type of filter. List goes on.

so its prob that high cam kicking in an increasing the spool of the turbo..

i know it 2nd when vvl its its tires spinning an approaching rev limiter lol

the sound of my boost is different depending on how hard my foot is down....and my 3 inch intake pipe and tiny filter is definatly making it louder....lol....and ya...your car sounds great rolling into boost

Sounds normal ....

unplug ur solenoids and see if it still gets louder without hitting the highs
