That's gt30 territory!

Well done is all I can say. Sounds like a beast

I've been looking at this turbo for a few weeks now, and I got some information from a Garrett distributor.

"They offer two choices on turbine housing assembly-- a .64 A/R or .86 A/R. We of course would attach the turbine housing before shipping it to you.

Turbo @ $1308.62 each
Turbine housing Assembly’s @ $237.45 each"

I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to this area, so here's my situation. I basically have some money to throw around and I'm looking for a nice direct upgrade from a t25 setup. I'll never use the max potential of this turbo (I get that), and probably would only boost it around 9-12psi on a stock DE with 370s at 4 bar.

I feel like this is a good option for me, and would be much reliable than someone else's used goods or rebuild. I know a lot of this thread has been mostly the high hp experts talking about maxing this turbo out, but what do you think about running a GTX2867 on a setup like mine?

If you already have GT2860rs or 2871r those housings will work.

I have a custom T3 vband housing that im going to use with it when I get around to ordering it (after my 6 speed swap is complete)

if you arent going to run more than 9-12 psi, you wont see many benefits of having the GTX. IMO you should just get a 2871r

Pointless!

Are you really only going to spend 1500 to run only 9-12 psi?? At that boost level and the street, the response difference is negligible at best and you are better off just buying a proper condition T28 or disco and put your money somewhere else

Hear you loud and clear, appreciate the feedback, also thinking ahead a little bit, don't want to kill my DE, but eventually if I decide to step into the VE or DET world, would like to have something that could support me long-term too. If I'm going to spend the money on something new, I thought the GTX2867 seems like a good route to go, that's all.

DE is plenty strong and can support 400whp all day long!!

You will be OK. Just do not blindly spend your money

If you are already planning on purchasing a turbo I would really recommend GTX turbo. They are perfect for street and up to 26-30 psi...(well thats what we are running it at). The boost level your looking at will not be waking up the turbo but at least you know when your ready to turn up the boost, the turbo you *bought is ready for it. Yes it is a good amount of investment but you'll have a legit turbo. I will be using a GTX2867 on my DE soon. The decision is yours...a stock turbo is also a choice since it cheap and will also b able to handle the boost your looking at.
