Good choice!

Whats the AR on turbine side??

Also, what manifold are you using (other than describing it puts it in a standard position)?? Equal length?? Log??

I would HIGHLY recommend against a log unless you are very good at tuning..........

Yeah, whatever you do, please dont use a log manifold. Get a nice tubular manifold and enjoy the extra power and less stress on the motor.

i SECOND THAT. Friends don't let friends use logs.

Sure, there are log manifold setups out there. I made pretty good power on a log manifold and a GT3076r. Best dyno was 478whp and 438wtq on 26psi. Not bad for a "tiny" 3076r. But the turbine was choking the engine, as well as the manifold.

If I could do it all over again, I would go for a GT3076r with a .82 TIAL Vand stainless housing, and a manifold to match it. Otherwise, I'd go with the 6262 or GT35r and deal with the "lag".

Well I will post more pictures once the turbo kit arrives.
As mentioned it will be a Gt3082r (gt30/gt40r)/ Gt3040r- 409722-26 - A/R .70 / EC-1 /M24

I will also be getting a DP tubular mainfold with external wastegate, and HKS intercooler.

As the turbo is different flange to the std gti-r one I will possibly need to get a custom turbo elbow made up to link to my 3" exhaust and gtir downpipe, any ideas?
Also looking at the mainfold, will i have trouble porting the bolt holes? Don't want to damage it.

See pictures

hey coheed, youre at high elevation right? u suspect it would have made more whp at sea level?
and that was on the 20v's right?
and finally u think the 3076 would have made 500whp at a higher psi?

You can even get it with a T2 flange, internally gated, and .82 A/R

Why would this even be considered an option on a VE?? VEs like to breathe and restricting it with BOTH an internal gate AND a T2 backhalf is going in the wrong direction........ESPECIALLY if you are running a non tubular (or equal length) manifold

OP was talking about using a gtir manifold, that's why I said that. Didn't think about the turbo being backwards lol. Obviously hes got it figured out with that Garrett turbo and tubular manifold.

Most Gtir std replacement turbos comes with the 5 bolt turbo housing which the standard turbo elbow can fit.
Like this

Standard Gtir Turbo elbow.

However for my turbo it has the T3 4-Bolt housing
Like this

So with my turbo, what turbo elbow can i get off the shelf to fit on the standard downpipe? Or do I need a custom one made up?
Like this

Then onto the 3" exhaust.

So do i need to get something like this adapter

Or get something like this made up?

Personally I think that turbo is a dog of a turbo. gt3076 is much better. Is it a .86? I am guessing you got a good price?

Just get any old exhaust shop to make you a dump pipe. Wont be hard

Yes to the adapter, and downpipe with exhaust vband clamp

I would go with v-band, So much easier to get on and off vs trying to get to bolts
