Thread: Compressor Surge?

***UPDATE***

I still have to do a longer test to give the details on what results, but I did the single spring (smaller one removed) mod on the type rs knock off. Its WORKED! I still have a small amt of surge when I dont spool up a lot and maybe a quick sputter or 2 before the discharge from the BOV, but I have room to adjust it a little looser so maybe ill check that out tomorrow. This is a much bigger improvement over, well not have ANY air come out of the BOV. I'll test it a little bit more, maybe record how it sound now and post. Right now i've had myself a few victory beers =]. I still might get a new one tho because 1. I had to drill out 2 of the screws holding the BOV together because one snapped and one stripped, 2. because the original owner told me this one was fairly odd and could use changing, 3. I'd just rather not have a knock off. Oh and when I took this apart I noticed the gasket was, well pretty much non existent so (because it was 3am) i made one from a Cheese It box with duct tape on each side of that cardboard. Surprisingly worked pretty well haha.

Hahahahaha!!! I better make sure I never forget to give you credit.....I'll be honest, putting the 2 together was an inevitable conclusion so that's why I neglected mentioning your credits, but your right, you had a hand in the development.

I have used a aluminum can in the past to make a gasket with some rtv. works good with two layers of aluminum.
