Turbo's...Turbo's... Turbo's...
What's your setup ie bottom end and head whether it's DE, DET, VE, and all the other combo's of SR's.

What's your motor comprised of and what turbo are you running?

At what RPM do you hit full boost?

VE. 8.5:1 compression. Built, not bought. Precision ball bearing 6262. Springs, retainers, N1 cams. I hit full boost at 5k, peak torque around there... then again at 7k. Revving to 8800rpm. Makes power to 8500rpm. At rev-cut shift, the 6speed brings revs back down to 7000rpm.

I hope you guys can help with picking a turbo, looking for something that is capable of 500-600 hp...

However I want a fat power band capable of hitting full boost 3500-4k rpm carrying it up to 8k rpm or further if I move forward with the VE head swap.

Any suggestions of what turbo will give me this?

Also, this is what my bottom end and head currently consist of:

Bottom end:

CP 86.5mm 8:5:1 cr
Scat rods with ARP hardware
ARP bearings
Main Studs

Head:

BC 264 cams
Cosworth HG
ARP head studs
BC valve springs
3 angle and light port work
log manifold
t3/t4 50 trim .63 a/r Enjuku racing turbo
50lb or 75lb injectors (Both top feed one low and the 50 lb high impedance)

Any suggestions?

Suggestions? Get rid of the log manifold on the DET.

A little searching will get you a long way. There are countless threads on turbo builds around here that you can glean from.

@ Cliff

Thanks for the recommendation, I know the log manifold will not be as efficient as a tubular or equal length manifold which is my on my to get list. Also, please bear with me that this is a S13 SR20DET that i'm running in my car. I will continue to search around, but I would like to get this thread as active as possible so I have this thread to reference as well as others.

May I suggest you focus your thread bit more? So far you're asking for every member with a turbocharged engine to give you their build specs. That information and more is gathered in this thread, and takes years to develop. That is no short order.

Just one reply later you're asking for another entirely different set of responses specific to your goals, and your current setup. Frankly, too many things to cover in one thread alone effectively.

I would recommend you focus on one thing at a time. Maybe the turbo recommendation? And work from there.

Also, all of your questions are easily answered with some time spent reading around this great forum. Which is why we are hesitant to clutter that up with redundant information, making the good info harder to find for people like you in the process. If in your searching you are having trouble finding the information we insist is there, but instead you find tons of threads like your own, you may appreciate why we like to keep these types of threads to a minimum.

Try again?

Thanks for the thread recommendation, and I didn't intend on jumping around as I would really like to focus on the turbo. It's hard to just say I want this with these requirements and what turbo will get me there? Especially when I know a lot of factors are involved from head design to the manifold being used.

Also that t3/t4 50trim aint gonna cut it as it will be at its upper limits........

Come to think of it, ditch the turbo (not enough flow volume/efficiency in upper range), manifold (restrictive) and injector setup (not enough fuel)

Is any of your engine work complete as of yet?? I would also go with 9.5:1 pistons at least if not......

I originally wanted to go with 9.5:1 pistons, but I was warned by multiple machine shops that tuning those pistons would be a bit more difficult then the 8.5:1 pistons. I went ahead and moved forward with the 8.5:1 considering they would be a lot less prone to detonation then the higher cr.

The turbo setup, is just to get the ball rolling and I will upgrade that and a few other things as I progress with my project.

I am really looking at the 5857 Precision Billet turbo with a .63 a/r, I can get one for a good price and think that would fit what I am looking for. It's hard to find a SR DYNO chart as most guys are running 6262 or larger!
