Another maf placement ?
So as it is my air filter is makin love with my brake master cylinder, and I can only imagine its not getting the coolest air. So what I wanted to do was route the filter under the battery tray, there's plenty of room there,

Now I have 2 ways I can do this,

1. leave the maf where its at and put a 90* pipe on it an then the filter on that, but I've always read you dont want sharp turns too close to the maf.

2. put a 90* off my bov recirc / pcv pipe and then put the maf and filter on the end of that, but by the time I do that I end up with several bends and the maf will be quite a ways away from the turbo.

That's where I would put the 90* it would be a straight coupler with a 90 or what ever degree cut from a U pipe. From messing around I can tell there should be enough room for everything. And I would probably change it back in winter.

What should I do?

Send that sucker to the trunk. By sucker I mean the battery

No thanks, I like going to the track, and I would have to put a quick disconnect in the trunk lid and I dont want to do that.

....I have my battery in the trunk of the 510 and when i went to the track i never had to have a quick disconnect? Unless thats something new?

Some tracks can be picky i guess. But my Cobalt came stock with the battery in the trunk... its normal now

Is there any way you can leave the filter where it is and bring the cold air to it? You could use some flexible HVAC tubing. Might not make a huge difference but every bit does help.

Maybe it's too cramped in the engine bay for that?

yeah, all the track i've been to requires and external kill switch. you can run an external kill with a marine 2 way switch inside the trunk so u can enable the external only for the track

Turn that octopus pipe (the one you have the BOV recirc going into) to the right (and figure out a new hose maybe for the BOV recirc) and put the stuff on that?

It would be the same exact setup you have now... Except aimed to the right.

that was what i tried first, but i had a hell of a time finding a hose to recirc with.
