^^ I wondered the same, but further research revealed that these are geared towards NA application and I am not sure how much of the work they are worth since they are just higher compression CAST pistons.............

They are basically UK 10:1 pistons

Yea. they are only 180 a set. can i run my engine set up past you guys and yall tell me what you think?

Yeah high compression and turbo is no big deal now a days. Most big honda guys are running 11.5:1 compression or higher. Chapnutz1 has a 2.2L 12.5:1 motor assembled. Cant wait to see how his turns out. Im thinking of doing a bit higher compression when I punch my block out to 2.2L Im thinking more in the range of 10:1

So a higher compression doesn't limit boost like it used to? Also are there any drawbacks

The problem with higher compression is detonation not necessarily the limitation of boost.

But, as mentioned, with todays tuning solution, that issue has been mostly resolved (although you still have to worry about what type of fuel you use with these higher compression engines)

Not much in terms of drawbacks in the "lower" compression ranges (say up to 10:1. Don't forget, people have been slapping on heat pumps called T25s for years with not too many issues)

I plan on using pump gas though. that is why i am hesitant about using higher comp

Pump is fine

Honda boys have been doing it for years and (as mentioned) people slapping on T25s on UK 10:1 engines for years as well

what cams? High comp always works better with bigger cams

Using bc 272 cams. here is my set up so far..

engine specs are as follows...

lower -decked 53j block -tapped for oil return -drilled/tapped for 1/2 inch headbolts -new 8cw crank -gtir oil pump -gtir oil pick up -gtir rods -gtir mainbolt/girdle -acl main bearings -acl rod bearings -8.3:1gtir pistons/ nismo 10:1 pistons -custom oil pan -sr16 water pump -cometic h/g

upper -fresh 54c head -bc 272 cams -ve valve cover -port matched intake -gtir headbolts -greddy rocker arm stoppers

turbo -port matched s14 turbo manifold -disco potato -fmic

Fuel -stock 444c injectors -walbro 255 -aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator

12.5.1 compression 25psi

on smaller turbo's even with tuning capabilities, higher psi on smaller turbo's and high compression without extra cooling ( methanol injection, larger
cooler piping, water to air cooler) of the charged air will = detonation= limiting higher boost capabilities you can only tune it out to a certain point = limit!

or us different fuel would help to push the limit to the max ( e85, e98, e100, etc...).
