Yea i have an apexi avcr, sorry i didnt mention that. I think they are backwards, i have the line from the solenoid connected to the bottom port and the line from the compressor housing is connected to the top. I would still have to use both correct?

Test drove it sunday and that mofo hit 1.68bar and hauled gluteus maximus for that split second! Couldnt even look at the wideband i had to stay on the road, then giggled like a schoolgirl back to the house! Hopefully i will have some time to check this out today.

You hook the bottom one to the compressor housing and the top one to the boost controller. The bottom one opens the wastegate and the top one pushes it closed enough to regulate the boost to what ever you want. The way you had it was keeping it closed thats why you hit max boost. Make sure you have the boost controller set up for external WG if possible.

Sounds like the diaphragm is torn. Does it leak when you blow into the bottom port?

ok so i left the bottom port connected to the housing, pressurized the system and i can hear air seeping from the top port. At 1 bar i barely heard it, so i wouldnt think its enough to stop it from opening at all....

You have complete diaphragm failure. New wastegate time. Unless yours has a replaceable diaphragm.

Maybe a bicycle tire patch kit?
