usually when you push a turbo over its limits (i have figured out) you get more tq over hp. I pushed my gt28R to 20lbs and I made 290hp 300tq.

Read the edits bro, I ran a DYNOJET. My tuner moved to a new shop which I was unaware prior to creating this thread.

THE WINNER!!!!! Spot on man! Congrats! PM me your email for PayPal :-)

You can see the power curve peak at about 5k rpm. Thats where she finished spiking and slowly fell to 10 psi :-( there were many variables discussed with my tuner, worst case scenario being just simply an old tired t25. Back to the drawing board. Although slightly disappointed I am very satisfied with today's effort and my tuner, and the numbers produced for what there was to work with. There's still 2k rpm unanswered for and I will interrogate!!! Lol!!!

Thanks to everyone along my journey!

Big ups to sr20forum as a whole!

Dont worry about the paypal man. Its all good.

I had that down as I had a pretty much identical setup and know what its capable of making at certain psi. Trust me when I say this. Dont try to push it any more boost than you already are. With those cams it will like about 14psi but you should be able to get it to hold 13-14 as well. I couldnt get it to hold any more than that. I used an s13 t25 and spiked it to 19psi and it would fall to 14psi every time after peak torque. Just maxed it out and 19psi was not good for the motor. Too much heat too much backpressure created at those boost levels. 14 is a good solid number to shoot for.

Dont be dissapointed with the numbers and keep up the good work.

Thanx for your encouragement man. The original build plan included a gt2871rs but I got a deal I couldn't refuse on this t25. I did plenty research, years ago, to learn that 14 psi is reasonable and about max expectation just like you say. If you click my idle link in my signature and scope the first post date, you'll see I'm definitely not ready to write off this turbo just yet with other potential limiting variables.

First 2 things on the list are 1: junk my home made MBC and buy quality. My MBC bled off to 8psi whereas the turboXS one we swapped in kept it bleeding off to 10psi. Just like you we had it spiking as high as 20psi but she just kept bleeding to 10psi. 2: will be acquiring a banjo to utilize the top air port on my tial 38mm gate. Although I've called tial in the past who said I don't need it unless running an EBC, my tuner is certain it helps and actually proved it to me on the Dyno.

After that's all said and done I need a new BOV. The raptor I actually borrowed the day before on Wednesday after sourcing a boost leak on Monday from my 2nd hand eBay special. Yet another deal I got along with my fmic, piping, couplers, koyo, and slimfans all as a package.

At that point I'll be right where I was yesterday and hit my buddy's shop to smoke the motor for boost leaks. If no leaks I'll be almost beat with one more idea, if leaks I shall button her up and take her for a rip to see if she holds 14psi. If no leaks I may replace the spring in my wastegate to see what happens. Either way if she still doesn't hold boost then that will be that.

It's never ending!!! Lol!!! Shoot, at that point I may just want to upgrade anyway

While I've got a great group of guys here in this thread...does anybody have any first hand experience or info to offer on the voodoo MBC?
