the cold idle issue is not a new one to sr20's
http://www.sr20-forum.com/global-stickies/57272-sr20-forum-manifesto.html
that link should help you resolve the idle issues

yes the usb is to hook the ecu to a laptop for tuning.....find someone local to help you learn your ecu or read ALOT before you try anything

and as always....ask

I have a laptop I could use, question is, is there some kind of program I use? Where do i download it? Does the car have to be running when I plug it into the computer? Are there some some of drivers I need to install for the ECU to be seen by the computer? I'd like to maybe get the program I would use to just read some read outs and not alter anything until i've obviously read more into it.

if you look at the manifesto there is a section called

ENGINE MANAGEMENT AND TUNING

start here
Beginners Guide to Chipped ECU Tuning
A noob tuning his own car (Calum RT)

this will give you a basic understanding of what your ecu is capable of and at least give you the proper questions to get your exact issue resolved

I'm actually looking through those right now lol, I couldn't find link to fixing the cold idle though? Also how hard do you think it is to put in power steering. This one doesnt have it, and im so used to it from my old (wrecked) one i was gonna take it out and put in into this one. I hate having to use both hands to turn at low speeds lol

Oh and one more thing on boost gauges, i was looking into getting a better one, question is giving the whole Vacuum situation, should I make sure to get with thats vacuum/boost since getting one that only reads the boost wouldn't move much given the whole vacuum making it negative?

Don't worry man, i not touching anything, i was just curious if I could like install a program, plug it in and see some of the readings and stuff to help me know the car better, not change anything.....

Its a 1995 200sx SE-R with a U13 Sr20DET swap and i want to take the power steering stuff from my 1998 200sx SE that had the GA16DE in it...i assume the parts are swap-able?

....i'll do a members ride when i get a chance, need to get some more pictures, to dark out now though
