Gotta do it for the love of it and keep pushing the envelope.

Everyone has a reasonable expectation to get SOMETHING out of it. I didn't throw $30K at a car to expect $5K out of it in a sale. If I slapped something together like a GTiR setup I wouldn't have expected any more than what I paid for the car originally.

sell it only if the idea of keeping it gives you more heartache is my thinking

I would not sell it yet. Fix it and enjoy. Really sucks to see a car you put so much time into be driven or towed away.

I have been through so much set backs with my car over the 18 yrs I have it but I can't sell it. What your going through is nothing compared to what ive been through. I got myself another car to drive to work and let it sit for a long time. Then one day I decided to get back on it. I thought about selling many times but could never do it and the last time I wanted to sell it my wife said " your not selling that car ever, it's part of the family". If she thinks like that I have no choice but to feel the same.
Give her another chance!

Like Kevin I have been through things with my car that most people will never believe but, again like Kevin I cant get rid of it. Mot the point that the car sat in storage for 5 years.

Sit back, relax and give it time.

I actually thought about selling/parting-out when I wrecked my Classic in 2007.

Wifey told me no "don't do it, we don't need the money that bad and you will regret it."
Even though it took me nearly 2-years to start the re-build and resurrection, wifey was right. With hindsight, I cannot imagine I almost gave up my little mechanical love-child. I'm really glad I've still got it.

I am going to keep her for now. Fix some things, and come back stronger than ever. Each time I dig into this car, it gets a little bit better. Wish me luck on this new endeavor fellas.
