Rotella T6 5w-40 in the summer?
I know the FSM says to basically *never* use 5w-30 oil in the DET unless extreme cold conditions. I've never used 5w-30, but I am thinking of running the T6 5w-40 and was wondering what your thoughts are on using that weight in the summer? Is it too thin for the DET?

I'm thinking since it's formulated for turbo diesels that are running really hard/hot that it should be OK. I've read a lot of good things about it.

..don't need no stinkin' catalylitic converter.. haha

Any car we have 1995 and older doesn't have one anyway (no emissions testing for obd1 in Illinois)
