Thread: Any boosted guys have this issue?

I just was like in shock. I never saw that happen before. I did notice some weird grinding noise. I thought it was the alternator bearings but I guess it was the crank pully or whatever. Not sure why the alternator lights would be on though.

I upgraded my oil pump, and I forgot to tighten the crank pulley up once. It flung oil everywhere in a matter of seconds. I bet it is your pulley coming apart, if it was just loose there would be oil IMO.

the crank pully night need to be replaced, as for the alternator DONT BUY auto zone ones. they suck, i went thru 3 before i gave up on their lifetime warranty , Get a VE one from Miko and you will be good .

Yeah I second the JDM from Miko. I just got one myself cheaper than Autozone and it won't die within a week of replacing it.

Well, I will give the Auto Zone crap one more shot today. I'm going out now to yank it off then got to go pick up a pulley to remove my broken shit and replace it with another one from one of my spare motors. Then comes the fun part of trying to align the stiff ass prothane mount. Ahh.

My car is n/a and I had the passenger mount bolts back on on me two weekends back. Had to ride 8-10 miles home on a Sunday from a tuner hang out spot. I took my mount bracket that bolts to the side of the block to CarQuest and they tapped the bracket for $15. I frequently check the passenger mount and the others also.

All you can do is go through and torque everything down again. Check and recheck is how it all works. Crank pully bolt could have loosened, did you swap it or is it the original one.

It is the original one that was on the jdm motor. I am going to be pulling one off of my spare motor and slap it on my car. Hopefully all will be good. I started the car yesterday and the alternator was charging. Very weird. Damn this snow, I wish I could be out working on the car in a T.

yeah bes u should look at those pullies same thing happened to my boys sentra but he has a (dare i say) qr25de in his. but his brake and batt light came on along with the legendary i need a new pulley squeel his qr developed 3 times. btw we found this out after goin though 6 altenators. sometimes companies like autozone amaze me either there spot on with there employees and other times i'd rather take advise from a 2 year old.

I have S4 cams and all prothanes and never had a problem. She SHAKES!
