Why are people running these HUGE ass turbos on these cars?
Im seeing ALOT of people who are going from super small framed turbos to HUGE framed T3's or T4's. But its funny that these same people with those HUGE turbos (minus a few) are either getting slightly slower, the same or close to the same times.

Seriously, theres a T28 guy right beside Ashton in the Quarter mile thread. Granted Ashton will prob be in the tens next time out hopefully. But I think alot of guys are looking at this turbo thing the wrong way for out cars. YOU DONT need a big ass turbo to run the times people with these big turbos run.

So....I was thinking. Theres alot of unknown T2 turbos out there that are the BUSNINESS when it comes to going fast. Lets talk about them here.

We all know about the GT2871r and all the Garrett ones that are great. How about others Cheaper then those. Ive payed $300 for my brand new Greddy 18g. Paid around $150-$250 for my other 18g's. They are good for about 425whp from what ive seen.

I know Miko had a favorite T2 also but I forget the name or make. Anyone else have some good ones?

I think it is called traction.

The biggest opponent of FWD high-HP, big turbo cars.

A Gti-R turbo or S15 turbo would rip faces off probably but what do I know! I don't do snails! :P

Its called slicks! Only with slicks and a medium framed turbo you have mid range also.

Im guilty as charged going bigger to 2871r . I say anything over 300whp in our cars is useless on street tire in a 195-225 size unless you pussy foot it around staying out of boost . T25/t28,18g, gt28/gt25 is great size turbos. Theres a few guys out there in the 11's on these turbo sizes.

precision 5830 and 5530. They are not cheap but use the new cea compressor wheel and can be had in a t2 garrett style housing. They are also ball bearing. Its too bad they don't off a cheaper journal bearing version of these turbos.

I think somehwere around 350-425whp is fun in these cars as long as you drive around on drag radials. If your on street tires 250-300who is fun!

I sent t3 because I wanna be able to make good 400+ whenever I want but mostly because I don't want to melt some pistons and also a big snail is sex

With a ve revving so high, why not a huge turbo?

Miko liked the bb37 and the gt30 comes in t2...
