Thread: Anyone else own an HKS SSQV?

So I love the SSQV design. But its literally the loudest most annoying BOV in the world after about six months of it being cool. When I blow off and theres an object on my passenger side it hurts my ears its so loud. I started feeling bad for the people with there windows down beside me. I also got tired of people tellin me something was broken on my car everytime I blew off lol (non car enthusiast)

So today I figured id take out my fin to see if I could get rid of the super loud squeak. Now its sooo quiet! It sounds like the car is exhaling instead of trying to blow through a wistle. It may be a lil to quiet now though....but its definatly more liveable then that squeak lol

Any other good distinguished sounding BOV you guys run?

i have the same one its annoying but the open wastegate makes up for it.

i have/had an ssqv and i love it... it wasn't loud at all for me unless i got on it.... other wise it was real low shifting in lower rpm range

after driving a friends 240sx with a ssqv I decided to use a synapse unit on my car.

got a deal on my ssqv, synapse will be my next though. Anyone tried their wastegates??

were you recirculating the SSQV?

I just drove the car again and Im digging the sound now. Not loud at all. But I can still hear it working. I hated driving around and when I hit it I could watch people at the gas station look over to the street cause it was so loud. I dont want attention lol I just wanna go fast.

BOVs are like children. They are to be seen, but not heard.

I hear you can get different fittings to change the sound of the bov, as for me i recirculate it.



its still some what audible but i without a air filter box it's just going to be that way.

mine makes a CHHHHHHHHH sound
