Thread: thermal coating? what do you think...

I've seen this done on headers and manifolds but never on internals ... it looks pretty good.

Yep, Swain Tech has plenty of coatings for this use.

I sent my stuff to swain. swain is not expensive and it will come out right. I rather not chance that coating coming off and damaging a motor over a few dollars.

I like swain coatings a lot. My B13's manifold, turbo's exhaust housing, and downpipe is swain coated. After a hard drive, I can pop the hood and quickly touch any of those without hurting my hand. It's pretty warm, but not hot enough to burn my hand on contact. It doesnt look very sexy, but its very functional.
