im unhappy to, for the fact that i dont have one yet. im getting 30-35 all day on my p11 cruising under 70 but mostly at 69. before when my iacv took a dump i was getting 15-24 on a good day. full tank was gettimg me 200-260 now im averaging 400-+ on the rr with bolt ones and still dumping gears.

Why do you hope I spent more money? What goes around comes around .

$800 for VE, $400 for VE-T cams or $500-$1,000 manifold, $100 for window switch, etc. VE's are not cheap, they were not built to be boosted from the manufacturer, so they didn't incorporate pro boost items into them like lower overlap cams or stronger pistons, etc. This is why it costs an additional $400 just to get low overlap cams and to get it to perform at least somewhat similar to older DE's.

I love the concept of VE, but my current VE is just not delivering. Might be my specific VE, or maybe fatty USDM p11 just doesn't like VE?

If you do low boost like I am then yes.

price seems fair for most the stuff you mentioned for sure, and i know the ve's were never really meant to be boosted. but so far im all smiles

yea i was thinking that too, either that ve's just had it, or maybe the p11 is just to damn heavy.. i know when my friend an my girlfriend + kid are in the car it def loses some get up an go, so i can only imagine how it would feel in a p11.

im not seeing any better or worse mpg's bein boosted really, i would like to take a long trip on a straight ass interstate with no hills to get a good idea of what kind of mileage i can really get, i bet low 30's..

the only boosted sr car's i've ridden in are Mine, boomsticks t25 NX and nissan crazy's nx, and i got to drive benitos old b13 around the block but didnt get on it so idk if that counts lol, i've drivin boomsticks nx a handful of times though.. So i dont really have to good of an idea of what i should expect, cause its either been pretty tame, or outrageous. i do know that the cars a shit load faster then it was.

Vadim, are you still using the ve head with all of the port work you did yourself? That could be a problem.

Why not go full gtir swap with a disco? That'll be a ton of torque for you. Then just work on tuning it for better mileage.

Yeah I am, sold the other ve to Keo. Thing is I cant say it's really down on power either. At 8 psi on virtual dyno it did 235whp ~215whp with 20ve cams and 260whp ~210wtq on VET cams. But gas milliaged dropped with VET cams too (surprised there, smaller lobes is not more gas efficient). Plus VET cams cost $400. I can buy a jdm rr for the cam price alone.

Well I'm getting ready to pull the VE out and drop in the old RR, then put a disco on it. Not getting the power or gas mileage I want out of VE to justify the much higher price tag to run a VE.

DEs are STILL holding strong. I just recently debated the same (VE vs DE) and the price of "stock" cams alone are making me shiver..........

A proper stock DE with minor PP/clean up work and S4 cams will come out LESS than a VE with VET cams............

Indeed, it's all about your goals. If you want under 300whp I feel like you can't beat DE for the price.

The DE comes out cheap simply because they are turbo motors, even RR has very low overlap cams (due to the stupid cat in header design). If our DE's were not designed as turbo motors we would be paying same for aftermarket turbo grinds.

VE is big baller power, if you want over 300whp go with VE, it's a lot easier to achieve it with it, and it will still maintain good drivability and idle (no S4 idle).
