I didn't think the pressure would be that much, but when I put the RR head on the VE block with the hole there, oil was spilling out of that sucker fast.

i had the t517z yeah , it still had a 3" inlet on the compressor side, the first motor i put it on was an 18g, i been through a few motors with that turbo i didnt blow up the roller rocker though i ended up taking it apart to put det pistons in it, because of all the talk about thin ring lands blah blah blah

I did my white car with a RR head, highport DE block, 8.5:1 CP pistons, Eagle Rods, 4cw crank from the RR, and the RR oil pump. I was originally planing on going all RR with aftermarket pistons and rods, but Soko sent me a piece of sh*t boat anchor motor... but I digress. It has done great, I ran it with a T25/T28 hybrid as my daily for a couple of years before I bought my Cadillac. It had a pretty decent power curve:

What's all this about RRs having bad oil pumps? I've had two RRs (well, one RR and one Frankenstein motor with a RR oil pump) and both had great oil pressure. I've actually "heard" that RRs had better oil pumps, but never seen any data to back that up. I looked in the FSMs and the troubleshooting specifications are identical for RRs and older DEs.

Dave!!!!!!!! Nice to see you again!

I need to drop in an oil pressure gauge into my daily and see. I might just drop the RR in as is and once it needs rebuilding will replace all of the good things.

I hope those AFR's are wrong, if they are right you could have made a ton more power with just a richer mix .

Yeah, it has S3R cams and that was at about 14lbs.

The T25/T28 hybrid was from Gpop Shop. I bought a blown T25 to have rebuilt, but it was too far gone, so they had to bore it out and use bigger wheels. It's a little more laggy than a normal T25, and doesn't quite have the top end of a T28, so in some ways you get the worst of both worlds, but it's alright. The most important thing is that I knew it was brand new. That was my daily at the time, so I didn't want to screw around with a used turbo that could go at any moment.

Yeah, I had it tuned on a dyno dynamics dyno, then took it to the other dynojet place just to compare. Here are the dyno dynamics graphs:
