Well there goes that plan then. I wasn't sure if there was any other way to get the oil holes shut. I could do DET bottom and RR head then, but I don't like the skinny DET blocks (and only two axle mounting holes).

DET bottom and RR head is a good plan.

Only problem is the low compression, though I could run more boost. Just kills the off boost fun and gas mileage

Swap out the stock pistons for VET pistons.

Or DE's with notches for oil coolers. Like I said I'm just not a fan of DET blocks. Maybe the oil coolers are just wishful thinking and are not a complete must.

why even get rid of it/plug it?

for the oil pump ill be using a VE oil pump on my RR, and i going to use a sandwich plate for a external oil cooler which will be hidden in the passenger side wheel fender.

vadim don't use a RR pump, from my research ppl using the RR pump always seem to melt their piston rings or worse.

Because you don't want oil to be shooting into the head gasket, possibly leaking past it...

Keo doesn't like sharing links, but he sent me this earlier today, it explains what hole it is: http://www.sr20-forum.com/turbo/41536-sr20de-t-vvl-head-swap.html
