I would like to cam it and be done with the intake head exhaust though.

Hey Eric drive at 3375-3400 rpms wherever that puts you at since you have shorter gears than the g20 trans i have. Try that and see if your mpgs improve. The b14 for some reason at that rpm gets the most mileage. I should lean it out more so I can save more fuel at cruise and idle.

This thread makes me want to boost my p10. I have an rr motor in my p10 and I average about 420 to the tank, I can't complain. My p11 on the other hand was getting horrible gas mileage until I recently cleaned the maf and I now also get 400 to the tank. Night and day difference.

Compression test it. If it hasnt been beat on then that motor is just breaking in. Swap the rod bearings because its a 4cw crank and slap a T25 on. I just wanna see the tq curve with stock cams! Itll prob feel like a much bigger naturally aspirated motor!

Man you guys are not helping! I will start preparing the block to be drilled and tapped, meanwhile will see what VE can do gas mileage wise. Everyone always says they get great mileage on VE's, guess it's good until you hit the fatty P11, or my VE is not too good. Could be the tune too, but I've ran similar tune as most people do.

That's pretty good! Best I've gotten is 351.1 miles to 10.328 gallons = 33.99 mpg. On my VET with log and T3. But haven't been able to get that high again yet, though I haven't driven on the highway too much lately. Last trip I got 28.42 with a ton of boosting and traffic, so not bad, need to do a boost free mpg run .

Just slap a turbo on it, and learn to tune on that motor, when it goes get a JDM RR and boost it. If I didn't have a bullet proof motor like a DET to learn to tune I would have destroyed the higher comp VE...

Well it shouldn't be hard at all to retune or refine it a little more. Especially a tuning guru like yourself sir!
