So I am pretty sure I have a VE head, oil pump and upper and lower oil pans (so everything should fit) The motor's in the car now and my buddy took his lift back (kind of uncomfortable asking to borrow it again) so I'll probably invest in a lift too, if I can get the motor out of the car it should be a lot easier to put the oil pump in I'm thinking. I'll be sure to take pictures of everything since I couldn't find an actual thread for "Oil Pump Replacement" seems pretty straight forward though, take the crank pulley off, oil pan and baffle, front cover and then I'm hoping the oil pump should unbolt, I'll be doing the head swap right after so the timing chain will be off, what do you guys think about replacing the chain while everything is apart? Worth it? I read somewhere that Ashton said chains last the life of the motor so I'm not sure if it would be worth it.
The only things I think I need now is a Gspec crank pulley and maybe I'll even be able to pull off Nismotronic!
A wideband, boost gauge and oil pressure gauge are in order as well I think...
More updates to come!
