Thread: How important is boost source?

I've been using my highport TB for a long time now, you might have to get creative with the cable bracket, and ofcourse the pulleys. but its not hard really.

So if im running the GReddy Profec B(1st gen) then my vacuum line that would run to the port on the commpressor housing i would run to the TB port and cap off the the commpressor port correct!

sure, that's what I'm going to do(but I don't have a compressor housing source).

Mine is simular to Vadim's first pic except that i added a nipple to the commpressor pipe but im going to cap that off.

sorry to ressurect an old thread, i have a w10 motor and i am looking for a good src to put my wg line on. i have the stock w10 bpv and it has too nipples on the actual peice, one on top and one on bottom, what is the bottom nipple for i have it capped off at the moment, does that only see boost? and could that be used as a wg line since it is before the throttle body, if not i will look for the plug thats by the throttle body and use that.

Use some brainpower to figure out where those ports go. You can usually follow them by eye, or give them pressure and feel where it goes.
It' probably safest to go with the port that plumbs to right before the throttle plate. This is found on the throttle body and is a good source to use.

yeah that is what i was thinking of using for the wastegate, but i do have the whole Bpv assembly and it has that nipple on the bottom, i was just wondering if to use that or just leave it capped off, thanks for the imput im reading thru your post on boost and how to raise it, good read. hopefully i have all lines sorted tommorow since my wg is dirrectly on the IM nipple.
