Update on VE cams?
So anyone else able to chronicle their cam upgrades? Any new dyno results out there?

I am really really interested to see the 20V cams vs an N1 cam now. I have experienced the 1.6vvl cams to the 20V and both have their benefits. But I am interested to see what others have done as well. And of course I would like to do a dyno cam swap and see what losses/gains are available between the cams.

Anyone running N1 cams on their turbo VE?

Yeah, definitely not a lot going on in the turbo world.

If it makes you feel any better im going straight with N1's on my setup. Should do well with the large runner, equal length T4 mani and large T4 divided 1.10 housing. Probably not going to get much more efficient than that as far as keeping backpressures down below boost. The cams themselved definitely have potential especially when I was looking at the specs of the Kelford cams this guy was using on his build. Even more lift, more duration, and more overlap than n1's and made rediculous power.

I am keeping it simple. 2 liter cams for me

With the steep ramp angle of the stock VE cams I dont know how they would take reving to 10k rpm. Would probably be very hard on the valves while the n1's should have no issues reving that high and should still make power all the way out with the large turbo. Cant wait to test it out.

I would love to try the N1, or even to give the SR16 cams another shot. The SR16 hit a lot harder, but the 20V improved idle and the top end screams.

I would like to see how they compare on the dyno. If I dyno a comparison, it will be pulls straight from idle. That way we could see how the 2.0 cams affect bottom-end power.

Do it man. Id love to see them.

I think later down the road I might get me a set of those Kelfords and do a comparison between them and the N1's

I am concerned a bit about losing some bottom end power. I have founds some limitations on the JWT map, and there is a flat spot right at 3k rpm that was never there with the smaller turbo. Hell, the 30r had easily 5 psi boost by then. But the 6262 hits around 4500. The 3k area requires more timing.

So I think I wanna try it. But the budget won't allow for anything crazy this year. I want to try cams, but I already have 3 sets of cams sitting here lol. I decided this year I would focus on paying off my student loans. 9 years of college is paid down to 11k bucks.

Yeah that testing is gonna have to wait over a year for me. Still going to do another year out here but after that ill be able to finish up the car to where I want it and make a couple small changes. Just had too much crap come up this year.

Well, since I've driven the car all winter (We didn't get much snow) I am going to detail it and head to SLC to meet up with Blair. We're gonna hang out for a bit and have some fun.
