^ This.

Do some reading on the SR20DE and the SR20DET and all of the many variations of them. Knowledge will get you more power than any big turbo ever will!

Here is a solid place to start as far as basic setups, the parts needed and the associated costs. Read Me!!

There is a boatload of info on this froum. I prefer to ask my search question via google and then type "sr20-forum.com after the question or phrase. I find it easier than using the forum search engine!

If the guy said 170 hp then hes talking about the qr motor, and if it is be very careful those motors dont handle boost very well on stock internals, maybe 10psi max, my brother has a spec-v and is right around 300hp at 9psi, how ever the qr didnt come out till the 02 sentra so id do research just to make sure

Read some of the turbo builds around the forum. Lots of them in your power goals, and lots of different ways to accomplish it.

on the older 2.5 motors i wouldn't just throw a turbo kit without doing some bottom end work to it... like pistons, rings, rods and bearing. they have very crap bottom end.....

if its an 01 its not a spec-v. its a SE, which has a sr20de in it.
only 170hp motor from a spec-v possible would be a qr20de (maybe 170 crank), spec-v motors are qr25de's and push out 175 at the crank, around 150 at the wheels stock.
